The Ace and the X were the first soccer shoes in history actually made for the women's foot on a women's last. The double entendre based visual pun was a way to highlight that fact and also say, "Hey, we want our own." The campaign featured powerful women in the sport stating that they were ready to put the men's game aside and stride forward with originality and grace.
This campaign was used to highlight the launch of the first ever soccer cleat designed by Adidas for women on a women’s last in 2017. The visual play on words demonstrates the frustration of the female soccer player playing in a shoe designed for the shape of a men’s foot year after year until 2017.
